Kick Ass

With Mass Effect arriving, I've been struggling to find time to write a post. This game is simply amazing. However, I'm gonna play a bit more before I write up some impressions.

The Halo 3 tournament and CoD4 tournament went well. In Halo 3, I came joint second in the first round but I failed to qualify in the next round. I just can't seem to be able to aim accurately in Halo 3 for some reason. I kicked ass in the first round of the CoD4 tournament though. Out of five rounds, I came either first or second in all the games qualifying for the final.

The final was tough. I really struggled in the first map. I just couldn't get shots off before getting killed. These guys were extremely good. They'll kill you in less than half a second of seeing you. Unfortunately, I came last in the first round. I did slightly better in the final four rounds but not enough. I eventually finished joint fifth out of nine final qualifiers. I got my ass truly kicked. Will stick the full scores up if I ever get them.

Xtival '07

Oh man, what a rush. I've just entered my first competition. It was a PGR4 tournament. Such an adrenaline rush. The qualifying round were 3 races. Two in a Lancia Delta followed by a Ferrari F40. I came second, third and second which saw me through to the next round. The final race was set in Snowy conditions with the Ferrari F50 GT. That was a real pain to drive. I finished fifth which was second to last in the end. The top three got a shed loads of prizes (they got like 3 games). I couldn't believe how much they got. And then they go and give a copy of Stuntman Ignition to the guy who came last in the final. Dammit! I knew I shoulda gave up after the 3rd lap.

Xtival is a weekend of free Xbox Live access along with a ton of competitions and prizes.

Anyway, it was a tonne of fun. I've enter a Halo 3 FFA tournament and a CoD4 FFA tournament for tomorrow (...or should I say today?). I'm just hoping they don't clash and I'm hoping I will win something! Either way, if Mass Effect turns up tomorrow morning, I won't have time to play it that much considering I need lots of practice! Game.co.uk disappointment

So I hear a flood of mail come through the letterbox with a crash sounding like a package. I rush down hoping to find what I've been waiting months for. Mass Effect it is not. Instead a nice green box labeled 'lensmail'. Great.

This was the first time I've made a preorder with Game and it will be the last. Promise of delivery to arrive on the day of release has been broken. Time for me to find a different online retailer who can keep their promises. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think I'll try Shopto next. I've got a few months before my next highly anticipated game comes out. Hopefully Mass Effect will arrive tomorrow. I think I'll just go and play some Call of Duty 4 while I wait.

In other news, Mass Effect comes out tomorrow in the UK. I'm still waiting for Game to dispatch mine. I've been dying to get this game. In the mean time though, I'm playing lots of COD4 on my Xbox 360. My impressions of Mass Effect coming soon!

Another New Blog

I've had a blog before. It was hosted on MSN Space. I wrote a few posts from time to time. It had a total of 5 posts before I gave up on it. Now I've started this one. How long would it last? I don't know be my guess is that this will probably be my only post. But who knows?

So what will I be writing about if I decide to get up off my ass to do another? Well, let me tell you who I am first (I am aware that nobody will probably read this). I've recently finished with student life at 23 years old. Consequently, I am looking for a job. But my interests are in technology and games. I also love my movies and tv. It's a sad life innit. Nevertheless, I will most probably be writing about my interests. I'll probably write a little bit about my life too. The result is that I have titled my blog, "Life", at least for now. I'm still trying to think of a better name for it though (also my last blog was called Life). If anyone is reading this, I am open to suggestions. And with that, I hereby end my first post on this new blog.
